Eero Nelimarkka (1891-1977) painter, Professor, founded the Nelimarkka Museum in 1964. The purpose of the Museum is to promote art education in the region of South Ostrobothnia. It was designated the regional museum of art in May 1995. The museum exhibits the production and studio of Eero Nelimarkka, older finnish graphic art and ghanging exhibitions all year. The Nelimarkka residency, adjacent to the museum, 15 an art school and a dwelling cum studio for artists.
